How OJD Services keeps people safe, machines lawful and projects protected — across every hire.
This statement sets out the standards OJD Services works to. It is provided for information and is reviewed periodically. Specific certificates, policy numbers and registration details will be confirmed here once finalised.
OJD Services is committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of our employees, customers, operators and the public who may be affected by our activities. We work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and supporting regulations, and we expect the same standards from the sites our equipment is hired to.
Our approach is built on risk assessment, safe systems of work, properly maintained equipment and competent people. Hazards are identified before a machine leaves our control, and we provide the documentation customers need to operate safely.
All lifting equipment we supply — including telehandlers and the lifting functions of material handlers — is subject to thorough examination under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER). Work equipment is maintained and inspected in line with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
Where machines are supplied on an operated basis, operators hold recognised cards and category-specific training appropriate to the equipment (for example CPCS / NPORS for telehandlers and material handlers). For self-drive hire, we ask that the hirer ensures their operators are trained, competent and authorised for the machine and task.
OJD Services carries the insurances appropriate to a plant and equipment hire business, including public liability and employers' liability. Hirers are responsible for insuring hired-in plant against loss and damage for the duration of the hire unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Certificate numbers and cover limits will be published here, and are available on request, once confirmed.
Several machines in our fleet are used in waste and recycling operations. We support customers in meeting their duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and related waste regulations, and our equipment is specified to help recover material responsibly. See our Environmental Policy for detail.
We do not tolerate bribery or corruption in any form, consistent with the Bribery Act 2010, and we are committed to acting against modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain, in the spirit of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We expect suppliers and partners to uphold the same standards.
